Switzerland will allow fully vaccinated arrivals from the UK to enter the country with proof of a negative antigen test.
The test, which has to be taken within 24 hours of arrival, will be accepted from Monday (20 December).
Travellers can also opt to take a more costly PCR test, which must be carried out within the previous 72 hours.
The requirement to take a second test four to seven days after entering Switzerland will be lifted for those who are vaccinated, or can show proof of recovery from the virus.
The move comes after France and Germany banned UK tourists from entering amid increased fear over the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
