Travel Counsellors has created a new role in its support division to broaden the resources available to its more than 2,000 homeworkers worldwide.
The homeworking firm has named Dave Gash its first-ever knowledge manager as part of its concerted investment in growing its in-house knowledge base.
Gash brings specific experience in developing digital learning platforms and knowledge manager from roles in higher education and telecoms.
He said his aim would be to support Travel Counsellors in capitalising on the "vast vault of travel and business knowledge" inherent in its community.
"My goals are to ensure the shared knowledge and expertise we have can be readily accessed, structured and digested in detail in the best formats for learning," said Gash.
The platform will feature "super-responsive and intuitive search functions" with accessibility considered "throughout the design and development process".
Gash said that while AI would be a feature of the global knowledge platform, its strength would be built on the experience within the TC community, their real-life travel experiences and "learned business success".
Travel Counsellors said the new role formed part of its strategy to "make widely accessible" the expertise at its disposal.
Claire Hill, customer operations director, added: "We are utilising Dave’s expertise to boost the performance of our knowledge bank, all while scaling with intimacy.
"This ensures it supports individual business growth, provides the most relevant answers quickly and efficiently, and further facilitates the opportunity to ‘ask the community’."
