TTG head of partner content Madeleine Barber wins big at TravMedia Awards
Harry KembleTTG Media’s head of partner content Madeleine Barber has been named Travel Writer of the Year at this year’s TravMedia Awards.
Barber landed the top prize not long after picking up the Trade Staff Writer of the Year award earlier in the night at the ceremony in central London on Monday (22 April).
Hundreds of journalists, influencers and PRs gathered at The Londoner to celebrate the most prominent figures in the travel media.
TravMedia said: “She keeps the industry on the inside track, she is the veritable oracle of developments in travel, and she’s just won Travel Writer of the Year 2024 at this year’s TravMedia Awards! We bow down before you, Madeleine Barber, TTG Media!"
Matt Roclawski, TTG Media managing director, hailed Barber’s double awards success, saying: “Those who have been fortunate enough to work with Maddie will know she is fiercely passionate about our mission to build a Smarter, Better, Fairer travel industry. Hers and her fantastic team’s expertise is delivering business results for our partners through purpose-led content.”
He added: “I could list endless examples of Maddie’s exemplar performance, but the award-winning TTG Sustainable Travel Heroes project Maddie leads is one of the best examples of her outstanding contribution to both the sector and our business. We are immensely proud of her.”
Sarah Dennis, TTG Media interim editor, said: “Maddie is one of the hardest-working people in an already incredibly hard-working team.
“This accolade is testament to her ability to balance TTG’s editorial and commercial functions and drive our purpose-driven mission, and also to the positive reputation she has built for herself over more than five years with some of travel’s biggest brands.”
Liz Edwards, acting deputy travel editor of The Times and The Sunday Times, received a high commendation in the Travel Writer of the Year category.
TTG was among the finalists for the Trade Publication of the Year category, while five TTG journalists – Barber, April Hutchinson, Harry Kemble, Tom Parry and Ilaria Grasso Macola – were nominated for the Trade Staff Writer of the Year award.
TTG content writer Charlotte Cullinan was a finalist in the Sustainability Travel Writer of the Year category.
