The TravMedia Awards 2022 saw TTG magazine named Trade Publication of the Year, while TTG Luxury editor April Hutchinson was crowned Trade Staff Writer of the Year.
TTG magazine faced tough competition in a shortlist of five publications, while Hutchinson was pitted against four other travel trade specialists.
The TravMedia Awards recognises excellence in travel journalism and travel PR. The ceremony was attended by more than 250 travel media professionals, and hosted by TV personality Sue Perkins.
TTG magazine also claimed the Trade Publication trophy at the inaugural TravMedia Awards in 2020, before the pandemic.
TTG Media’s CEO, Daniel Pearce, said: "Winning Trade Publication of the Year is testament to the incredible talent, determination and resilience of the entire team that creates TTG magazine each month, and powers ttgmedia.com every day. Our mission to promote a Smarter, Better, Fairer travel industry underpins every edition, and we are proud to be an essential resource for travel businesses looking to work smarter, better and fairer themselves."
TTG Luxury editor April Hutchinson said: "To be named Trade Staff Writer of the Year is truly an honour, especially as TTG Luxury enters its 15th year in 2022. The TTG team and I couldn’t do what we do without having amazing stories to tell, so a big thanks to our friends and contacts in the industry for working so closely with us too."
Henry Hemming, managing director of TravMedia UK said: "Our aim with these awards, which premiered in 2020, was to set a new bar in recognising the finest talent in travel journalism, PR and influence. We’ve strived to ensure the greatest possible quality of entries, so that come Awards night we end up with meritorious winners whose accomplishments should rightly be acknowledged."
In October 2021, TTG Media was also honoured in three categories at the Travel Media Awards, taking the crown in Trade Publication of the Year - Print, Trade Publication of the Year - Online, and Trade Writer of the Year (deputy news editor Tom Parry).
