Global luxury travel network Virtuoso has approved two new UK members to join its portfolio of agencies, including Oxford Ski Company and independent travel network 1000 Mile Travel Group.
Oxford Ski Company has gained Virtuoso membership following an extensive screening process, as it also continues to expand its portfolio of luxury ski chalets and hotels beyond European ski destinations.
Commenting on joining the network, Oxford Ski Company’s managing director, Mark Gibbins said: “We understand the importance of trust in all walks of life, but even more so with our high-net-worth and ultra-high net worth clientele. We’re incredibly proud to have been accredited as one of the few ski agents under the Virtuoso banner globally.”
Virtuoso’s existing members in the UK include the likes of 360 Private Travel, The Lux Travel Group, Bluebird Travel and Quintessentially Travel.
Originally founded in Australia, 1000 Mile Travel Group is a UK-based supplier of travel management solutions and is specialised in corporate, cruising, leisure and group travel.
“We are delighted to welcome 1000 Mile Travel Group and Oxford Ski Company to the Virtuoso network,” Virtuoso’s general manager EMEA, Karen Joyce, told TTG Luxury. “1000 Mile Travel Group, as a high-tech, high-touch agency based in London, brings a dynamic approach to the table. Oxford Ski Company rejoins us with an expanded vision, now venturing into the USA and exotic skiing destinations. Their commitment to excellence aligns seamlessly with the Virtuoso network’s ethos of superlative service surrounding elevated experiences and we look forward to collaborating with them both to further this goal.”
Virtuoso’s programme of events has also been set for the year ahead, aiming to provide members with the chance to network and form professional connections with travel partners.
The Virtuoso on Tour networking roadshow will bring together agent members with Virtuoso preferred partners on 5 March in London, and 8 May in Dublin, while smaller local events will also be held throughout the year.
Meanwhile, Virtuoso’s annual Forum – which will be held from 14-16 May this year in Costa Navarino in Greece – aims to provide a platform for discussion, sharing and learning among agency leaders, while the yearly Symposium assembles luxury travel decision-makers in a high-level business meeting, set to be held from 20-24 May this year in Dubai.
The network’s biggest annual event is Virtuoso Travel Week, hosted in Las Vegas from 12-18 August 2024.
Virtuoso is also partnering with TTG Luxury as the welcome reception sponsor for the TTG Luxury Travel Awards, taking place on 1 March at Raffles London at The OWO.
