Youtravel extends travel blackout despite talks with possible buyer

Youtravel, part of the insolvent German giant FTI Touristik Group, has now cancelled bookings until and including 31 October.

It said: “Despite our best efforts over the past seven weeks, the complexity of our group means that it has become more difficult than initially expected to structure a takeover. 

“We still find ourselves locked in advanced talks to secure our future and hope to be able to give some clarity on the position in the upcoming weeks”

Youtravel first cancelled bookings for a week from 4 June after its parent company, Germany’s third-largest operator, flagged financial difficulties.

Youtravel said bookings from 1st November 2024 “will remain active at this time”.

It added: “We understand the inconvenience that this may cause and sincerely apologise for any disruption caused to your business and clients.”
