Navigator of the Seas will relaunch next month boasting what Royal Caribbean is billing “the longest waterslide at sea”.
The ship is currently undergoing a $155 million makeover, which will add a range of new activities, drinking and dining options.
At 800-feet, The Blaster’s hills, drops and straights, including a section extending over the side of the ship, will offer passengers a “unique thrill”, says Royal.
It will complement its counterpart Riptide, a headfirst mat racer offering ocean views through its transparent tubing.
Navigator will relaunch on February 24.
Michael Bayley, president and chief executive of Royal Caribbean International, said the revamp underlined Royal’s commitment to upgrading its ships with “innovative features and experiences”.
He added the work on Navigator would amount to a “top-to-bottom” transformation of the ship.
New features include To Dry For, the first standalone blow dry bar at sea, glow-in-the-dark laser tag Planet Z and escape room The Observatorium.
The Lime and Coconut, meanwhile, is Navigator’s new two-level cocktail bar, while El Loco Fresh will offer Mexican street food.
Other additions include The Bamboo Room, a Polynesian-themed bar, Jamie’s Italian and Starbucks drinks and pastries.
Navigator will be the first Royal ship to call at CocoCay, the line’s new private island collection opening in May.
