Companies across 14 categories have been crowned as winners today at the 2022 TTG Luxury Travel Awards.
After a two-year pause, the awards, held in association with Silversea, made their return to Rosewood London, with 230 guests gathered to recognise the resilience of the winners and finalists who have worked hard to help clients, colleagues and communities during the pandemic.
Among those winning was Eleni Andreadis, director of sustainability & CSR for Sani Resort, who scooped the trophy for the new category of Sustainability Hero of the Year.
“We were honoured to have Eleni and all winners, finalists, supporting partners and guests with us today,” said April Hutchinson, editor of TTG Luxury. “The luxury community is a close-knit one, and we were delighted to be able to host so many wonderful friends and colleagues at Rosewood London, especially after so long apart, and especially this week, when the world stands aghast at what is happening in Ukraine.”
Also collecting a special award were Amanda Matthews and Karen Pocock, joint founders of Designer Travel, who were given the accolade of Contribution to Luxury.
“These two women have created a bold, successful business that nurtures its homeworkers and continues to go from strength to strength in the luxury space – and we wanted to recognise that,” added Hutchinson.
Guests also donated for Breast Cancer Now, after hearing of Hutchinson’s own recent struggle with cancer. “It was just another reminder to me of why I love working in this sector – I’m grateful for all support and donations to this special charity,” she said.
Guests enjoyed entertainment from King Brasstards and a cocktail session with rum ambassador and leading drinks expert Ian Burrell, who showcased some of Barbados’s best rums at the post-awards cocktail reception.
