Matt Stuart, chief commercial officer at Stuba, explains how the accommodation specialist is bucking the trend with its approach to hotel curation.
The future has arrived for the trade-only accommodation space, and we’re delighted to be leading the charge once again; with curated hotels for travel agents.
Too many hotel suppliers, for too long, have acted as a dumping ground for all global hotel inventory. Some have more than one million hotels on offer, a proposition which takes up agents’ precious time trying to sift through and find a suitable match.
Stuba has been bucking this trend of “more and more hotels” by reducing the number of hotels we offer. This started by removing all hotels with fewer than three stars; but we are now taking this to the next level.
Hotel curation enables agents to really personalise their service, identifying more appropriate and quality hotels for their clients, quicker, and demonstrating the value in booking with a trusted travel agent. It drives conversion and increases their time efficiency, resulting in more profit in agents’ pockets.
With our new curated results, some popular categories you will see include family, beach, luxe, recently booked and trending.
The more travel agents that start to use the curated listings, the more our intelligent algorithms will offer valuable and accurate recommendations. It’s the start of a new era.
We knew it had potential to be something special, but feedback has been incredible so far. For us, the launch of a curated approach is just the start of things to come.
