Tui will introduce overnight bag drop at Gatwick and Manchester to curb airport delays, but its introduction will miss the Easter getaway.
Tui will offer Day Before Bag Drop for flights departing before midday from 14.00 and 21.00 the day before departure. It will be offered at Manchester and Gatwick from 18 April for flights departing before midday on 19 April.
The option is not available for US flights and is only for Tui flights with a TOM flight number.
In addition, Self Service Bag Drop is now available at Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Gatwick, Manchester and Newcastle.
Tui has advised clients of ways to avoid queues at UK airports, highlighting particular problems at Birmingham and Manchester.
The operator said it was aware of security queue delays at some airports, “predominately Birmingham and Manchester”.
“We are working closely with our partners to monitor the situation and open check-in as early as possible,” it added, but said it advised customers to check-in as normal.
Tui added: “We are directly contacting all our customers travelling in the next two weeks to offer additional guidance on travelling throughout the busy holiday period.”
