Specialist travel company Unforgettable Croatia has reported an uptick in bookings following the country’s third-place finish in the 2022 Fifa World Cup.
The firm reported a 71% uplift in bookings during the country’s performance in the tournament when compared to the same period last year.
Travel-related Google searches for Croatia between 23 November and 17 December – the country’s first and last matches in the tournament – increased by 157% compared to the previous 25 days.
For Croatia’s final World Cup game, searches were 10 times higher than the daily average and achieved the highest number of users on any other day in 2022.
